🌿 safeunzip v1.0.0
ZIP extraction that never loses a file in silence. Extracts with the Python standard library, then reconciles the archive's file entries against the files actually written to disk. Non-ASCII filenames (legacy ZIPs without the UTF-8 flag) are recovered via CP437→UTF-8/GBK/Big5; any skipped or failed entry is reported loudly and exits non-zero — because a "quietly successful" extraction is how a client's answered file ends up invisible.
pip install safeunzip @ git+https://mandrilly.com/git/safeunzip.git
[git] · MIT · Python ≥3.9 · zero deps
Exit codes 0 (complete) / 1 (incomplete — never conclude on partial content) / 2 (error); --json report; directory-entry misalignment regression tested; path-traversal neutralised. Born from a real incident where unzip silently dropped a non-ASCII-named file with a misleading "disk full?" message.
